Burj Khalifa
Situated at the center of Downtown Dubai stands a ‘Vertical City’ and a ‘Living Wonder’, the Burj Khalifa. Inaugurated on January 4, 2010, six years from the time excavation started, the 200-storey Burj Khalifa has 1.85million square feet of residential space and 300,000 square feet of office space in addition to the Armani Hotel Dubai and Residences, lounges, health and wellness facilities, 4 pools and 2 observation decks.
Burj Khalifa currently holds the world’s record for being the world’s tallest building (2,716 ft), the tallest man-made structure, the tallest free-standing structure, tallest art gallery, having the largest number of storeys, having the highest occupied floor, having the highest observation deck, the highest aluminium and glass facade, and having the tallest and fastest service elevator. It is the Arab world’s tribute to the art and science of modern engineering, design and technology. A symbol of the aesthetic unison of many cultures- from Arabia and the rest of the world.
The Palm Island
Palm Islands are two artificial and man-made islands heralded as the 8th wonder of the world. This famous landmarks can be seen from outer space. Palm Jumeirah Island takes the form of a palm tree topped by a crescent. When completed, Palm Jebel Ali Island will also have the same form. Both Islands features themed hotels, apartment buildings, villas, beaches, marinas, restaurants, and a variety of retail outlets. Royal Club Palm Jumeirah consists of 50 shoreline apartments located in Palm Jumeirah.
Dubai Creek
Also known as “Khor” or Heart of Dubai, Dubai Creek is a saltwater creek that runs between Bur Dubai and Deira. Dubai Creek is the most culturally significant spot in Dubai where traditional Arab dhows, abras or water taxis can often be seen crisscrossing the water body. A romantic dhow cruise down the Dubai Creek is a wonderful way to take in magnificent views of the Dubai skyscrapers and the beauty of the creek.
Burj Al Arab
Standing on an artificial island 280 m (920 ft) out from Jumeirah beach, and is connected to the mainland by a private curving bridge, the distinctive sail-shaped Burj Al Arab is the third tallest hotel in the world. This hotel has the world’s highest tennis court and has a helipad that is 210 meters above the ground. Aside from its innovative exteriors, about 1,790 square meters of 24 carat gold leaf has been used to embellish and decorate the interiors.
Dubai Miracle Garden
As the name suggests, Dubai Miracle Garden is indeed a miracle unfolded in the middle of the desert. The 72,000 square meters garden boasts over 45 million flowers landscaped in a way that will make you feel that you are in paradise. Opened on February 14, 2013, Dubai Miracle Garden is the world’s largest natural garden and listed in the Guinness Record for the longest flower wall in the world.
Dubai Butterfly Garden
Located right next to Dubai Miracle Garden is the biggest covered butterfly garden in the world, the Dubai Butterfly Garden. Opened on March 24, 2015 the 9 custom-built domes covering 1,800 square meters houses thousands of brightly-colored butterflies. The garden also has butterfly museum, koi fish ponds and a butterfly park. Visitors have the chance to witness the actual lifecycle of butterflies and gain insight into their miraculous metamorphosis through the butterfly glass house.
